I had read this when it was first published and liked it. I liked it when I read it this time, too, though maybe for different reasons. I was glad to see the pictures and have the names of the actors who portrayed the characters in the movie. Tommy Lee Jones (a younger version) will always be Angelo in my mind. Enjoyable fast read, though a bit dated in style, as should be expected for a book written more than 30 years ago.

Love the author.

Re-read every so often, a good leisure read. These reviews need to be longer than they need to be written.

This is probably one of the all time greats. For maybe the third time, it was fun to reread and experience the car business. Robbins was a giant in his story telling ability.

Great book , am now reading sequel The Stallion. Best to read them one after the other.

Old book, but interesting reading. Despite (I'm sure) considerable research and consultation, Robbins displays on almost every page his ignorance of automobiles, the auto industry and how things work. The book is mostly about a fictitious auto company founder/CEO and his family, focuses on family politics and intrigue, with some good sex thrown in for good measure, and does not even resolve at its end whether or not its radical gas-turbine-powered "Betsy" car even reaches production, let alone succeeds. Which of course it never could have done. One (of many) egregious errors that jumped out at me (was there not an editor) was his mistaken assertion that Detroit time was one hour behind Florida time. Really?

It was OK
