This is the third book in the Petsitter Mysteries. I enjoyed the first one, the seccond one was ok and this one didn't do much for me. Infact, I found the book to be rather pointless. Yes, there was a mystery; however, there was not much investigating done by Kendra. Literally, all she did was set up meetings with other characters then ask them if they murdered Ezra. When they responded with a "No" she "accused" them of doing the deed.

Also, I got a bit tired of the back-fourth feelings about Jeff. First, she isn't going to have anything to do with him..then she wants to keep him as a pet client..then she wants to use him for his PI skills..then she is back with him..then she doesn't answer his calls.....it gets a bit annoying after a while. I know alot of the series have off and on relationships but this one is a bit much for me..

I recently discovered the "Kendra Ballantyne, Petsitter Mysteries" and have been devouring the books. In book #3, "Fine-Feathered Death," Kendra has recovered her law license but also continues with her pet-sitting business. Unfortunately for her, she also continues to be a "murder magnet" when another lawyer at her new firm, prickly owner of a gorgeous macaw, is murdered.

I enjoyed this next book in the Kendra Ballantyne series. It was a pleasant read.

Enjoyed the book.

great addition to collection

Great quick reads for the purse to read in waiting rooms, etc.

After having her law license suspended for something she didn't do, Kendra Ballantine was able to prove her innocence and is now working at Yorrick & Associates as a partner. Yorrick, a lawyer in her old firm, hired Ezra Cossner who brought with him his profitable client list. Kendra is working with him on a case in which two clients won't sell their property to TO for them to build a multi-complex.

Kendra likes working with the lawyer who underneath has a kind streak and is sometimes fair. She also adores his macaw G-igi who he keeps at the office. Someone doesn't like Ezra because Kendra finds his body one morning. A few days later, Kendra and a paralegal are talking in the office and a shot rings out killing the paralegal. The police zero in on her sometimes lover Jeff as a suspect so Kendra starts her own investigation to find the real killer and clear his name.

Besides going back to work as a lawyer, Kendra keeps her pet-caring business which adds a lot of humor to this exciting who done-it. Linda O Johnston is a creative storyteller who not only writes a fascinating mystery but also creates a deep character study. Gi-Gi the macaw steals the show as she becomes the mascot of the law firm. Readers will adore her antics while applauding the heroine for caring about her and the number one suspect who she is determined to prove innocent.

Kendra Ballantyne is a full time, hard hitting lawyer in L.A. She has recently had her right to practice law reinstated and is anxious to keep it that way. So she is less than pleased when she is assigned to work with the elderly and cranky law partner, Ezra Cossner, on a real estate case that may be a no win situation. But she is willing to take a chance on Ezra since he is the proud owner of Gigi, the blue macaw that loudly shares his office. But Gigi becomes an orphan when Ezra is found shot to death in his office. Kendra's nemesis from the past, Detective Ned Noralles, is determined to hang the murder on her all too sexy boyfriend, P.I. Jeff Hubbard. It is up to Kendra to figure out who had a reason to murder Ezra before more bodies appear.

In addition to her job as up and coming lawyer Kendra is a professional pet sitter. In between cases she makes the rounds of her dog walking, pet visiting duties. It is a job she started to pay the bills when her law practice was on hold and it is one she does want to give up. So in addition to 10 hour work days, Kendra and her own dog Lexie stay busy checking up her 4 legged charges, and ocasionally, their 2 legged owners. With Jeff seemingly over involved with his ex, Kendra's neighbor is looking better all the time- not just her client Beggar but also his attractive owner Russ.

Linda O. Johnston has created a wonderful new addition to the ranks of amateur detectives. Kendra Ballantyne is the feisty, intelligant, caring professional we all want our daughters to become. The well timed humor used through out the story sets it above the current crowded crop of cozy mystery series. Johnston's ability to blend pet love, mystery and romance into one well wrapped package make this a summer treat for mystery and pet lovers alike.
