Say it with Poison is the first classic English village crime novel in the Mitchell & Markby series by Ann Granger, combining a satisfyingly complex mystery with engaging characters and wit. The perfect read for fans of . Beaton, Agatha Christie and ITV's Midsomer Murders. But she hardly expected it to include murder, blackmail and unrequited love

Brilliant story line, not rushed just easy engrossing reading. It is the sort of book you could read time and again but the plot is really good and it is not until the end that you realise the clues have been there all along. It is not like when you get to the end a new character appears as the villain of the peace. Highly recommendable and so is all the series.

A very good combination of a love story between a foreign service consul who has been posted home, and her love for a CID inspector whose job she hates. Lots of British background, interesting murders. A good read. My library didn;t have the first volumn, so I bought it. After I read it, I donated it to the library so that others will be able to know what happened at the beginning.

Quemal
Slow paced, but beautifully written. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the mystery. The author fully succeeds in immersing the reader in the time and culture. I'm purchasing more of the series.

????????????????????????
An excellent start to an excellent series. I've read them all and wish there were more.

Bluddefender
Again, a magical Markby & Mitchell book in the series by Ann Granger. Loved it, especially being a Cotswold Girl who loves "Who Dunnits". Good story line, suspenseful with the usual twists and turns in it. Well worth reading.

Dishadel
Fun reading

Daigrel

Shaktit
