I have read other Heather Graham books. I love all of Heather Graham's books especially The Krewe Of Hunters Series. But, I really love them all. My Invalid mother was a fan and passed her books to me. None of them were brilliantly written, but most were a fast, fun read.

Publishers Weekly called Pozzessere's Slow Burn "an enjoyable read" and Eyes of Fire delivers an even more tantalizing combination of gripping mystery and sizzling romance. Set on a Caribbean island, the novel follows Samantha Carlyle and Adam O'Connor as they search for a king's fortune in buried treasure, a dangerous killer and true love. Original.

The truth is it lacked the polish I've come to expect from this writer. Sadly, I ended up skimming most of it because it just didn't feel cohesive to me... I just couldn't get into it like I could her later stuff.
The main characters spent most of their time bickering like children (when they weren't having sex... ya know, like ya do with somebody you can't trust & want to take a swing at five seconds earlier) and all over basically the fact the guy was a perpetual liar.
What was the mystery part of it...? Well, honestly, from my stand point, it was why some women seem to be idiots about what they sleep with. Beyond that, well, it was a bit of a mess. Trust me, I'm not giving anything away here when I say that it was so tangled that by the end I really didn't Care about whatever it was that Was the mystery.
Oh and it has ship wreck stories in it.
Like I said... Not one of her best. Usually her good stuff takes me a couple days to read because I'm so engrossed that I want to savor it slowly. This one, meh, twenty minutes?

a GOOD mystery/suspense novel should not require lengthy explanations at the end--all those details should have been incorporated within the story itself and should have helped propel the story's momentum. Sadly, this is not the case here. Plus the concept of ALL the guests using aliases and waiting 5 years to go find the treasure AND all deciding to do this at exactly the same time is just too preposterous. Then top it off with all the monotonous sex scenes--and you get a rating of only 2-3 stars. Which is a pity because the basic idea is a pretty good one, just poorly executed.

I have read other Heather Graham books. My Invalid mother was a fan and passed her books to me. None of them were brilliantly written, but most were a fast, fun read. I tried to like this book, but just couldn't. I have never like the main characters less. Both were jerks. I got tired of the immature, useless fighting. The heroine was a self-centered brat, with zero common sense or self preservation. Hero was egotistical tool who was just as self centered. No believable chemistry between them made the inevitable sex scenes very flat and cliche. This kindle book had no breaks where the scenes changed and that made it confusing on top of all the other mess.

Heather is very consistent in her writing. This story was very good but seemed to have been done before. Her elements of supernatural combined with interesting characters always makes me look forward to reading. This time I was not as thrilled about her herone as I normally are. That said, it is worth the read and is enjoyable. If you are new to Heather Graham, I suggest you try Phathom Evil, Uninvited or Deadly Night first.

This is one of my favorite authors.

Fun story many twist I did see the end coming plain as day.
However as always Heather left this old Man standing tall with her ability to write a sexy story.
Thanks for letting me know with a little imagination I still have it within in me.
Love reading you.
And I will find another story to fabricate about.

Heather Graham is a Fantastic Author. All of her books never disappoint. she has the right amount of suspense, mystery, history and humor. there is even a little bit of romance. Everything you ask for in a book. I especially like her Krewe of Hunters series. those characters become like friends and you want to know what they are up to next.

Heather Graham is one of my favorite authors. Her books are fast-paced, full of suspense and romance - this book is no exception.
