Nancy van Deusen is Claremont Graduate University’s Louis and Mildred Benezet Chair in the Humanities. A musicologist and music theorist with ongoing interest in music analysis, van Deusen has intersected disciplines often kept apart on more conventional, standardized music faculties. Her teaching career has included positions at California State University, Northridge, and at the Institute for Musicology at the University of Basel, Switzerland. Van Deusen continues to publish books and articles on medieval music, including her forthcoming work, Old Stones New Music: Materiality, Culture, and Music in Central Europe (Brepols Publishers).
