Dallas McCord "Mack" Reynolds (November 11, 1917 – January 30, 1983) was an American science fiction writer. His pen names included Dallas Ross, Mark Mallory, Clark Collins, Dallas Rose, Guy McCord, Maxine Reynolds, Bob Belmont, and Todd Harding. His work focused on socioeconomic speculation, usually expressed in thought-provoking explorations of utopian societies from a radical, sometime satiric perspective.

He was quite popular in the 1960s, but most of his work subsequently went out of print.

Most of Mack Reynolds stories are about a possible future as seen from the dark days of sputnik. The Glorious Soviet Union in military, social, and economic triumph, with the Degenerate West in economic stagnation and social decay. It's pretty interesting and somewhat unintentionally funny just because of that. Otherwise, the stories and quite engaging and very well written. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.
