The secret tapes constitute a total of maybe 3 pages of this book- the rest is a made up version of what the author believes happened to Marilyn the day she died. To what lengths do people go to make up lies about Monroe? Poor woman. The author relies heavily on the book written by Robert Slatzer and is basically rehashing the "red diary" theory over and over again- with very little evidence to boot. It is sad the lengths people with go to make Marilyn look like a victim and a poor, sad woman with little to live for but the love of a man. Don't bother with this piece of trash. As if she would tape herself and only NOW these tapes have come out and yet nobody has ever seen them.

Marilyn Monroe's death in August 1962, apparently a suicide, shocked the world. With fame, powerful friends and lovers, and the world at her feet, why would she have killed herself? This title argues strongly for a new version of events, based on thousands of documents, some never published before

The Monroe Tapes - and What Became of Them? Subterfuge in the Night. The Eavesdroppers’ Story. The Eavesdroppers’ Version. This book will be an investigation of Marilyn’s adult life, not of her childhood - that desolate, dislocated period has been well charted by earlier biographers. It was a time that the grown woman would never forget nor allow her public to ignore - ten foster homes, two years in the Los Angeles Orphans’ Home, another foster home, and finally four years with the guardian appointed by county authorities after her mother’s departure to an asylum.

As Matthew Smith notes in his 2003 book Victim: The Secret Tapes of Marilyn Monroe, based on tapes the actress made with her psychiatrist weeks before her death, the CIA likely knew about Monroe’s affair with Robert Kennedy and saw her death as a blow to the Kennedy family. In his 1985 book Goddess: The Secret Lives of Marilyn Monroe, Anthony Summers, tabloid journalist (keyword is tabloid here) claimed that RFK and his brother-in-law Peter Lawford encouraged Monroe’s drug and alcohol use after she threatened to make her affair with RFK public.

For the sake of Marilyn's memory- don't bother. To what lengths do people go to make up lies about Monroe? Poor woman. As if she would tape herself and only NOW these tapes have come out and yet nobody has ever seen them.
Why can't people accept the truth that she died because life didn't treat her very well towards the end. Whatever intentional or accidental she died from overdose. No conspiracy or murder. Simple. Yet people tend to disregard truth and buy grossly exgarrated details to make a soap opera out of her life. None of her friends believe she was killed. Not even Dr Englegberg or her first husband, etc. Yet people would rather have her murdered than believe she gave up on her own life.
And those who write books on conspiracy simply want money.
