Eventually, I found Royden’s Real Analysis. I appreciate the approach Royden chooses in beginning with Lebesgue measure first then addressing general measure at the end of the book

Eventually, I found Royden’s Real Analysis. I have only read the first two chapters, and everything suddenly started making sense and gel together. I am awestruck, how Royden has figured out a way to organize all the concepts in some kind of natural sequence, and the amount of details on each concept. With that said, I have used internet to flush through the details on per need basis. I appreciate the approach Royden chooses in beginning with Lebesgue measure first then addressing general measure at the end of the book. For those of you frustrated by this approach, you can jump right to chapters 11 and 12 for a general treatment first.

Real Analysis by. H. L. Royden. 1 Set Theory . Introduction .

This is the classic introductory graduate text. Heart of the book is measure theory and Lebesque integration. Categories: Mathematics\Functional Analysis. Macmillan; Collier Macmillan. Prologue to the Student This book covers a portion of the material that every graduate student in mathematics must know. For want of a better name the material here is denoted by real analysis, by which I mean those parts of modern mathematics which have their roots in the classical theory of functions of a real variable. These include the classical theory of functions of a real variable itself, measure and integration, point- set topology, and the theory of normed linear spaces.
