I am OK with this book. Not entire what I wanted though.

Pros:
-There are a wide variety of plants that are covered, almost every one with a good photo.
-Each paragraph is well written and very informative
-Photos are in color

Cons:
-The organization is nonexistant in this book, there is no alphabetizing at all.
-There isn't a table of contents to point you in the direction of what sort of efforts you want your plant to achieve, it's all basically browse the ENTIRE BOOK or try to think of a plant you want to look up in the index and hope that when you read the info on that plant, you chose the right one.
-This book presents more facts and folklores about the plants than magickal uses of plants.

This is a beautiful book, but there are multiple errors with the photos not matching what they say they are. So many so in fact that I turned to the front of the book to see if I missed some sort of disclaimer or explanation. Mandrake, persimmon, cascara are three examples. Sometimes she will describe a plant, its description and use, and show a plant that might have a similar nickname but is not the one she described. Licorice is an example of this. She described the botanical, glycyrrhiza glabra, and gave its uses, etc., but then showed a picture of a totally different plant that is sold with the nickname of licorice plant, but is not true licorice nor the one she speaks about and calls glycyrrhiza glabra. These errors are all over in the book. This type of error concerns me because if she doesn't know what the plant looks like is she even familiar with the plants at all? And where is she getting the info on what the plant is good for? I kept getting the feeling she had no idea about plants, and just googled some picture to accompany her suggested uses for a plant. It worries me, that since I don't know about the magical uses, she might be off there as well and I'd have no idea. When I can identify errors on things I am sure of, I am doubtful to trust an author on things I am not sure of. She is also more willing than most herbal books to state an herb safe for internal use. Mugwort for example is usually listed as not safe for internal use. People can make their own choices as to the safety of an herb, but she should at least alert people that many authorities feel the herbs she says are safe are instead somewhat dangerous. A pretty book, but of dubious reliability.

This book is just terrible. The author just took a bunch of plants, smacked on some generic, extremely vague meanings and uses to all of them and tossed them into this compiled mess. It's not even alphabetized! Who buys an encyclopedia so they can rifle through it for 10 minutes trying to look up Coriander while it's in the back between hemlock and monkshood,

One of the only color printed plants guides. however there are some pretty serious errors in here. Wrong pictures used. Wrong info. I don't regret buying it because it's good for the most part but I've been going through and fixing errors because there are plenty.

The book is wonderful. Although it doesn't seem to have all the details I look for when it comes to the usage of the plants such as how they can be made into oils, and if they react with other herbs. Otherwise it is a great resource and I recommend this book to anyone studying plants and their properties. I also recommend it just for a good read with some of the history of the plant is in it as well.

This book reminds me of Scott Cunningham's book "Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs". With a large number of plants cataloged and beautiful photographs, it contains the medicinal, energetic and botanical aspects of all herbs described therein. But like all books that contains too many plants, the approach is sometimes superficial, giving willingness of more thoroughgoing information than what's found in its texts. Nevertheless, it is a reading that I recommend, especially for those who want quick and accurate informations about their plants.

Great reference material, love thumbing through it and seeing all the magical plants that I can cultivate and grow on my own.

The book is clear and easy to read. It has simple explanations for a wide assortment of plants. Wiull be one of my most used books.
