Rose Amy Fyleman (March 6, 1877 – August 1, 1957) was an English poet and children's writer, noted for her works on the fairy folk. Fyleman was born in Nottingham on 6 March 1877, the third child of John Feilmann and his wife, Emilie (née Loewenstein), who was of Russian extraction. Her father was in the lace trade, and his Jewish family originated in 1860 from Jever in the historical state of Oldenburg (currently Lower Saxony), Germany.

Rose Fyleman was brilliant and that shines through in everything she has ever written. What a wonderful book! I have loved it since my childhood. One person found this helpful. For anyone who has always loved fairies and has always suspected them hiding in their gardens; this book is for you. Full of beautiful verses that children and adults will delight in. There's something magical about Rose Fyleman's poetry. She makes you believe in fairies.
