Soup for breakfast certainly fits the bill. This is especially important if we’re removing things like gluten or grains for a while. Because outside of eggs, there’s not a whole lot left, at least in the standard American breakfast landscape of cereals, oatmeal, muffins, croissants, pancakes, waffles, bagels and breakfast sandwiches. But even if you’re not going grain or gluten-free anytime soon, soup for breakfast is still something you should consider. Here’s five reasons you should have soup for breakfast: Reason You Should Have Soup for Breakfast: They’re great when you’re in a rush

Calef Brown's books prove him to be both an exciting painter and an astute poet. His visual and lyrical rhythms are ear and eye candy.

I was excited to get this book because I had purchased Polkabats and Octopus Slacks, which was a collection of witty poems. This one was not as engaging for the kids. Not sure why.

This book is a great one to add to any child's bookshelf. It has unique illustrations and creative, short poems that are both fun and thought-provoking. It is a wonderful poetry book that is sure to engage children's imaginations and interest. The poetry reminded me a little bit of Shel Silverstein because of its creativity, length, humor, and imaginative themes (like adults who love donuts too much, a grandfather's odd mustache, and an egret that tells secrets), but Calef Brown really has a unique style and voice. This is a delightful book, and I recommend it.

Have found a Calef Brown book that we don't adore. My three year old's favorite books are Calef's books of poetry. She has a stack now that we read from. The poems are generally silly (which we love), but the meter and rhyme are consistently outstanding. I sing a lot of them to my daughter. Also, the artwork is fantastic.
