Watch You Bleed book. Stephen Davis did a wonderful job in describing this part of Guns, but offers miniscule detail regarding the other members. In his sixth major rock biography, Stephen Davis details the riveting story of a band that originated in the gutters of Sunset Strip and went on to set attendance records on the biggest stadiums on the planet. Watch You Bleed documents the improbable story of W. Axl Rose, the biggest rock star of his generation. Taken from an abusive father in his infancy, he was raised as  Bill Bailey in a strictly religious Indiana household by a stepfather who beat him for playing Led Zeppelin songs on the family piano. The book also charts the backgrounds of every band member, especially Slash, a Hollywood street kid whose designer mother dated David Bowie.

Guns N' Roses Fan. Published by Thriftbooks. com User, 10 years ago. Pretty good background on a definitive 80's rock band. Especially enjoyed all the info on Axl Rose in the early years

Guns N' Roses Fan. Especially enjoyed all the info on Axl Rose in the early years. Would recommend this book highly for any Guns N Roses fan. Interesting look at the Rise and Fall of Guns. I thought that this book was an interesting look at the makings of an amazing rock band. What I did not enjoy about the book is that all of the information in it came from past interviews

In the late Eighties, Guns 'n' Roses were the biggest, baddest, band on the planet, a rock 'n' roll juggernaut that played era-defining songs like "Sweet Child 'O Mine" and "Welcome to the Jungle" to packed stadiums around the globe. They were a band so utterly convinced of their own greatness that they released not one, but two double albums on a single morning. But their excess was not just a feature of their recording career. Their offstage antics were legendary. Spleen bursting quantities of drugs and booze fuelled a rapacious appetite for groupies and bad behaviour. They learnt from the debauchery of the seventies and they topped it. And in the end it all crashed down in flames. Now Steven Davis, author of the classic rock bestseller "Hammer of the Gods", his biography of Led Zeppelin is telling the whole story for the first time. Years of research and exclusive interviews make this the definitive story of the one of the greatest rock bands the world has ever seen.

If you are a guns and roses fan, and you love GNR from appetite for construction, to patients, to use your illusion one and two, and you even love the spaghetti incident, then this book is for you! Very well written, with lots of insight a new revelations for the true guns and roses fan! I highly recommend this book; it's just so well written and easy to read.

One of the best books I've ever read. I couldn't put it down. It helps to be a fan of the band, but even if you aren't it's a good read.

Very good book

It was a gift for my son who loves it!

I very enjoyable book. I have read Steve Alder's and Slash's book. I never realized how difficult a person Axl Rose was. There are, however, a couple mistakes in the book. (Paul Stanley plays rhythm guitar for Kiss. Not bass!) Otherwise it shows a tremendous amount if research. Thank you

Amazing! If you're a GNR fan this is a must-read!

If you're a GnR fan this is a must read although I would have liked some more insight into the bands break up such as from the members themselves but I'm just nit picking as I really enjoyed this book. So much I read it in two days.

This is a well-written book about one of the most notorious bands in rock history. Davis captures the chaos of Guns' rise to stardom in the mid-eighties. A great read.
