Ferrari World Champions(Book the English Version I have),Overall Decent but short and condensed and Biased Ferrari Racing history.I did not like a snarky comment regarding a Driver who God Did not want at the time or something to the effect perhaps not the author's Intention?also the book is a Hardcover that comes minus a Dustjacket.(That's how the same publisher did the Bizzarrini Book which I also have.)The book goes up to 1976 for Sportscar racing(with skips in between)and More on the F1 Side,Schumy and so fourth.I enjoyed reliving When I used to Watch Schumacher in F1 And it is covered up to 2008.The history is condensed to usually one and two pages for each year and it's car and the for pictures it is the same thing.Recommended for Racing Fans, but falls short(also author could not resist taking Jabs at Ford no problem with that I am far from a Ford guy.But Enzo did do on purpose what he did to HF by not selling.)The Author should have given more Credit to Chaparral, far from being a "Disappointment" as he put it despite describing it as "Futuristic".Besides these flaws a quick study of the Marque's racing history but not comprehensive.

The book is not top notch in terms of paper quality, cover quality (no dust jacket, printed hard back of "bargain table" type) nor photo reproduction. Brief 2 page synopsis of championship cars/years. Much better writing has been done and continues to be done on Ferrari racing.

In addition, take this point for what it is worth from a former US expat in Italy. In Italian, books of this genre are often written in formal prose and in general they do not translate well into English. Despite Mr. Newman's effort I find this to be the case with Sig. Mapelli's writing. I have become cautious about picking up books from Giorgio Nada Editore since they mostly follow this model of Italian Author with translation into English with similar results.

Save your money on this book and go after one of the many other great Ferrari, F1 or sportscar racing books out there. It is not a must have for an enthusiast of any of these racing genres.
