Ray Newell is a well known and respected figure within Morris Minor circles. He has been Secretary of the UK based Morris Minor Owners Club since 1983 and has contributed significantly to the Club’s growth and development in that time. He has written extensively about the Morris Minor, but of the eight books he has written, this is the most detailed and comprehensive. Ray has owned a variety of Morris Minors over the years but currently his pride and joy is a rare 1949 Series MM Tourer. He has recently acquired an equally rare 1954 Series II van from New Zealand, which is currently undergoing.

The postwar Morris Minor, designed by Alec Issigonis, was one of the most popular British Cars. 2018 marks 70 years since the first Minors rolled off the production lines at Cowley in Oxfordshire. In this celebratory publication Ray Newell looks in detail at the development of the wide range of models produced during a production run that spanned twenty two years in the UK. Using mainly contemporary materials covering four decades, he transports the reader back to an era when the pace of life was much slower and the marketing of the vehicles was considerably different to the slick.

Mark Morris (born 15 June 1963) is an English author known for his series of horror novels, although he has also written several novels based on the BBC Television series Doctor Who. He used the pseudonym J. M. Morris for his 2001 novel Fiddleback

Morris for his 2001 novel Fiddleback. He currently lives in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, in a 200-year-old stone house, with his wife, the artist Nel Whatmore. They have two children.

Ray Newell is a recognised authority on the Morris Minor having written extensively on the subject over a number of years. He is a true enthusiast with a wealth of experience in owning, driving and restoring Morris Minors. He is also the National Secretary of the UK based Morris Minor Owners Club, a position he has held since 1983.

The Morris Oxford was quickly given the name the"Bullnose" because of its rounded radiator. Like so many of the early automobile makers, Morris was raised on a farm and moved off the land to find work. He started work in a bike shop, then established one of his own. In 1900 Morris decided to go into motorcycle manufacturing.
