The book arrived later than expected Especially great for those who have had trouble following standard origami diagrams.

The book arrived later than expected. However, my son immediately started making new papercrafts from the origami paper I had purchased from this site. I enjoy recieving the special folded projects and he is happy with the purchase of this book. Especially great for those who have had trouble following standard origami diagrams. Each step is well explained in text and illustrated with color photos showing hands accomplishing the folds - perfect book to use to teach origami. Particularly interesting to experienced folders are the very well done dragon, snail, horse and rider, and graceful lady - worth the price of the book themselves.

Author: Zulal Ayture-Scheele Publisher: Sterling. Zulal Ayture-Scheele. I am always looking for books on origami and various techniques, folds, etc. always inspire me to create little diagrams on my own. This book is an okay book. Condition: New! Other notes. I wasn't toooo terribly impressed with some of the models in there, but there were a few other diagrams I have been having trouble folding (using other authors in different books I already have)that were shown and explained in a whole different way in which I could relate to and finally got through to the ending result!

The 40 forms in this book are arranged by 8 different basic bases and cover various levels of expertise. It contains forms I had not seen elsewhere including horse and rider, snail and cloverleaf. Each form has photo representations of each step as well as directions. I first encountered this book in my local library and the "well used" shape it was in helped convince me it would be a good addition to my fledgling origami library.

You can find all this on the internet for free. I thought there might be old ideas that I could find mixed in but I didn't.

Hi!

This book is a good starter if you want to do something with paper not necessary pure origami and if you like ornament and some usefull stuff.

BUT...

If you intent to purchase this book you may want to consider some points:

- This book shows kirigami (cutting paper techiniques) in some models.
- This book is for beginners!
- The title bring us to think about a more complete book regarding origami, however the models are simple and some of the models are part of an ornament or using glue to be attached to another origami piece.

I love that this book uses photographs instead of drawings in the instructions. It also has beautiful photographs of ways to arrange the different projects into dioramas. Most of the projects I have never seen elsewhere.

I purchased the book for my eleven year old son. He had brought home the same book from the library. I seen how creative he was paperfolding, so I went to Amazon.com and looked it up. I found several to choose from. The book arrived later than expected. However, my son immediately started making new papercrafts from the origami paper I had purchased from this site. I enjoy recieving the special folded projects and he is happy with the purchase of this book.

This book has beautiful pictures of what someone else was able to make but it wasn't accomplished through the use of the instructions given in this book. Pictures are not in sequence with directions and they leave crucial instructions out on nearly every project. Many photos make it impossible to discern between folds, edges and shadows. Also, one is lured into a treasure hunt for various and numerous "basic forms" located on different pages throughout the book.

Easy to follow, contains models that range from very simple to rather impressive, yet all are so well explained that even a novice can create the most beautiful models without frustration.

Especially great for those who have had trouble following standard origami diagrams. Each step is well explained in text and illustrated with color photos showing hands accomplishing the folds -- perfect book to use to teach origami.

Particularly interesting to experienced folders are the very well done dragon, snail, horse and rider, and graceful lady - worth the price of the book themselves.

BOOK CONSTRUCTION:

Entire book is full color, heavyweight, glossy paper. Well-organized table of contents breaks down models by base. Includes an index at the back. Cover has pre-scored open fold at front and rear to prolong book life.

Well done. I am rarely so pleased with every aspect of a book.
