Animals should definitely not act like people. Animals should definitely not act like people.

My husband brought this book home from the library. I picked it up to read it to my 2-year-old, and could not stop laughing at the picture of the hen. If you have seen the book, you know what I mean. My son didn't think it was funny because he's too young, but I just know that someday he will love this book!

A successor, of course, to Animals Should Definitely Not Wear Clothing (1970)

A successor, of course, to Animals Should Definitely Not Wear Clothing (1970). And again the ludicrous situations-""it would be preposterous for a panda"" to take a toy panda to bed, ""a worm would be worn out"" trying to lift a barbell-will elicit quick laughs from kids. But the look is bright and crisp and broadly humorous, and the final turnabout-animals shouldn't put people in cages and gawk at them ""because we wouldn't like it""-brings the assorted goings-on to a single, chorus-line conclusion.

I got this book for my 3 year old daughter. When I speed read through it initially I had to call several friends because it's very realistic and VERY FUNNY!!!! I love the last page!!!!!!!!

But anyway my daughter was able to understand and describe the pictures to me before I read the words to her - i.e. thought provoking. And she found it funny as well. It's a very coursely drawn book, but that may help her draw some of the animals. I liked that it was not regular household animals, so she was able to relate to some right off and others we had to have a discussion on what type of animal, where they live, what they eat, etc.

Slim and nice to carry around in day-bag for entertainment.

My son likes it and laughs - but it felt too short and succinct for me.

We first read this book when our son was 3 years old. He loved it then and now 3 years after he still enjoys it. It is funny and entertaining not only to the kids but also to the adults. It is also appropriate for the early readers too: they will read the book without even noticing it! That is the book that we will keep in our collection for years to come!

I violated the don't judge a book by its cover when I bought this. The title and the cover art seemed too funny to pass up. The result, my toddler really likes this book and I do too! I cracked up the first time I read through it. The illustrations are priceless. Also, the fact that there is just one line per page makes it easy to read to little ones who want to keep turning pages. You cannot go wrong with this one.

A great book, stylish illustrations done in a very unique manner. Excellent quality of printing, good paper and colour reproduction.
Good for toddlers and preschoolers. We get to discuss what happens to animals with clothing on and learn some more words that can be used to describe the situation.
