I'm a Nazarene pastor. Evangelicals have tried to write on social issues, but we sound like little kids compared to the developed, well thought out, theologically grounded material available in Catholic social teaching. We really don't need to re-invent the wheel, our Catholic friends have done the heavy lifting for us. This book summarizes the material in the 13 or so Papal encyclicals from 1891 to present, and yet is easy to read. Extremely well written and reader friendly.Outstanding.

THIS BOOK WAS VERY READABLE FOR A SUBJECT I FIND A BIT OVER MY HEAD! I READ THIS BOOK AS REQUIRED READING FOR A CLASS ON SOCIAL JUSTICE. IT WAS VERY READABLE. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE ABOUT THE KINDLE VERSION IS THE WAY THE TABLES DISPLAYED. THEY WERE BASICALLY UNREADABLE. THE INSTRUCTOR PRINTED SOME OF THEM OUT AND THEY HAD A WEALTH OF INFORMATION SUMMARIZED. IT'S TOO BAD I COULDN'T READ THEM. (OR DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO DISPLAY THEM ON MY KINDLE.)

One of the best books I have ever come across. Material is well organized and is presented unambiguously. Content is thorough, comprehensive and presented with great clarity.

5 stars for this work due to its extraordinary job of not only providing a solid definition of social justice but for managing to at least management seemingly everything involved with the topic. Highly recommended to anyone interested in this subject.

Such a thorough, lovingly- put together book. One of those books you keep forever and go back to. I did lots of highlighting and note-taking and thinking. I wish that I could share this book in a bookclub type environment.

It gives you a wider perspective of the world and social issues. It's not just one more book about justice, it's a tool to unsderstand the world and our relationships with others, environment, society, etc. If you read this book you will not be disspointed at all, justi give yourself a chance to grow more as a person.
